Lone Star Circle of Care’s (LSCC) 2015 clinical quality indicators have been recognized as among the best for all Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the United States.
On August 18, 2016, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded LSCC $245,499 for outstanding performance in five categories, including recognition as a National Quality Leader, Health Center Quality Leader and Clinical Quality Improver.
HRSA’s quality improvement initiatives align with the National Quality Strategy and focus on better care for patients, healthy communities, and lower health care costs. HRSA tracks clinical quality metrics on all of the nearly 1,400 health centers operating nationally.
LSCC’s 2015 outcomes beat the Texas average on 12 of 16 Clinical Indicators.
Although LSCC has consistently ranked in the Top 20% of Community Health Centers nationally in the three years since HRSA began issuing quality awards, 2015 marks the first year that LSCC received the prestigious National Quality Leader award. This recognition was earned by only 4 health centers in Texas and 80 centers nationally.
The National Quality Leader award is given for exceeding national clinical quality benchmarks, including Healthy People 2020 goals, for chronic disease management, preventive care, and/or perinatal/prenatal care.
