Lone Star Circle of Care recognized as a national leader in the Million Hearts initiative

Million Hearts is a national movement with an ambitious goal of preventing 1 million heart attacks and strokes over 5 years. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), a partner in Million Hearts, recently recognized Lone Star Circle of Care as a national Million Hearts leader based on the organization’s performance in 2016. This recognition is based on exceeding benchmarks on 3 clinical metrics: aspirin therapy, blood pressure control, and smoking cessation interventions. Per HHS, only 215 of the nearly 1,400 community health centers in the U.S. have achieved this recognition.
