A new round of nutrition education classes for type 2 diabetics is underway. This time, the series is being offered in Spanish to patients at our El Buen Samaritano location. The classes are every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., running for 6 weeks from July 12th to August 16th. In these classes, I educate attendees on how to better manage their diabetes primarily through diet, as well as other factors. Diabetes-friendly snacks are also provided at each session, along with a bag of goodies for patients who participate in the majority of the classes. If you missed out on the first two classes, be sure to check out the following sessions:
- July 26, 2023—Diabetes and Nutrition II: Sugars, Snacks, and their Alternatives
- August 2, 2023—Diabetes and Nutrition III: Carbohydrates and Understanding Portion Sizing
- August 9, 2023—Diabetes in Daily Life: Heart Health, Stress Management, & Healthy Shopping Skills
- August 16, 2023—It’s All About Balance: Exercise and Eating out with Diabetes
Future classes may also be held in the evenings.
