Lone Star Circle of Care’s dietitian, Victoria Luera, visited the Head Start campus in Taylor, TX this week to teach a group of preschoolers about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The children started by listening to a video reading of “The Hungry Caterpillar”, followed by a game where they learned about “Go, Slow, Woah” foods. Then they got their wiggles out by dancing to the “Hokey Pokey”. They finished the lesson in true Christmas fashion by making Grinch fruit kebabs. This is a really easy, healthy, and fun activity to do with any kids at home as well. To make these, simply stack a green grape, banana slice, small strawberry (with the top cut off), and mini marshmallow on top of a toothpick and enjoy!
